The Path to You

Elise Walker has no idea where her life is headed, but she’s pretty sure in fifty years she’ll still be living in Eastport. Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in on her, but she can’t leave, not when all the most important people in her life still live there. When Elise’s best friend moves six hours away and asks her to consider going, too, Elise’s world is thrown off balance.
Caroline Monroe is too busy for love. New to Eastport, her only focus is proving she deserved her latest promotion. What little free time she has is dedicated to her dog Moose.
When Moose gets away from Caroline at a trail, Elise finds and reunites them. Caroline instantly connects with Elise, who seems genuine and compassionate. It doesn’t even faze Caroline when she finds out they work at the same company. It’s a little unusual, sure, but there aren’t any workplace rules about being friends with your subordinate. Besides, they’re just hiking and sharing dinners together. It’s not like she’s going to fall in love with Elise. That would be ridiculous.
